Tell me a bit about your business.
I educate and help clients on how to become healthier, happier and the best version of themselves! I teach people how easy it is to become healthy and nourishing their bodies. I do 1:1 online nutrition coaching as well I have a few online plans that I sell (with more in the making), the most popular one at the moments is The Health Reboot / Juice Fast which really kickstarts clients health journey and reboots their health. I also work for celebrity Nutritionist Amanda Hamilton. I do a lot of behind the scene stuff for her as well as working at her Juice Fast Retreats.
What made you decide to start it?
I started working for Amanda Hamilton back in 2016. So it kinda evolved from there.
What’s a typical day/week like in your shoes?
It varies a lot week for week! Pre-covid I was working mostly from home or travelling a lot while working. And DJ'ing at the weekend. But on a typical day in covid life, I wake up and get a cup of coffee and read a few pages in a book in bed, then I workout. I read and research, create content and in contact with clients. Cook a lot of yummy nutritious meals, take my dog for walks and spend time with my man.
What’s been the most difficult thing to get your head around when you started up?
How to start, where to start, what to do, how to do it! So many questions! Also finding the motivation. I always have so much motivation when I first start something but building a business doesn't happen overnight and it can be frustrating not seeing results at first. I've lost my motivation so many times! But I learnt that you just have to keep going, be consistent, keep learning and never doubt yourself and you will achieve your goals!
Have you encountered any hiccups along the way?
I think the main hiccups is self-doubt, not really sure where to start and a severe case of imposter syndrome. One can have so many ideas but not really sure how to execute them. The trick is to just start somewhere, stop talking yourself down and you will figure the rest out on the way. If you already got the idea and are going for it, why are you suddenly doubting yourself?
How do you stay motivated?
Clients results really keep me motivated! The more people I help, the more I want to help! But I also find that if I start to become a bit uninspired or lack motivation, I read a new book and I get all the inspiration and motivation I need. Think it is also important not to do the same every day, keep changing up your routine, try something new!
What’s your main marketing took/social media platform? Are there any you want to try out that you haven’t had a chance to yet?
Instagram is definitely the one platform I use the most and of course my website. I post on Twitter and Facebook too. Would love to get the hang of TikTok, but I'm currently easing my way into it.
What’s next for your business?
Right now I'm focusing on building my business bigger and help as many people as I can to reach their health goals. But I have a few other bigger goals that I'm currently working on - stay tuned!
Do you have any advice for other women looking to start their own business?
Research, but not too much, just start and research more along the way. Don't listen to self-doubt, the more you grow the more proud of yourself you will be. You are capable of more than you think!
What do you do to relax?
A glass of wine with my man.
